Modeling and numerical simulation of basic thermodynamic processes of ideal gases
Abstract
Mathematical models of processes with ideal gases at open and closed thermodynamically systems, easy for numerical simulation by CFD software are developed. They include the main steps for computer simulations of laminar and turbulent flow, buoyancy, isobaric and isochoric heating, and adiabatic compression using simple geometrical models and changing the governing equations, boundary and initial conditions. Visualization and animations of stationary and transient thermal and fluid flow field are obtained as results. The models are easy for verification and validation on the base of the theory of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid dynamics. They can help to bachelor students to understand and learn the theory of transport phenomena at ideal gases.Downloads
