Some problems of specialized translation at University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy

Abstract

Specialized language raise terminology and contextual problems which require certain competences on the part of the translator. The present paper introduces some issues related to specialized translations and analyses the difficulties that students at the UCTM encounter when they translate specialized texts from English into Bulgarian. The paper tries to find a typology of the most common errors that occur and searches for the possible solutions to overcome them.
